Sony has debuted a promo video of an unnamed, concept digital camera that promises the power of a digital SLR in an ultra-compact frame.
Based on the advertisement, it’s not a professional caliber device, but it does look fun to frolic with at the beach. Plus, it appears to have a large touch LCD screen, a smooth user interface and a few other very interesting qualities.
The new Sony camera clip is soft, light and pretty - basically what I imagine an Anthropologie catalog to look like in a commercial if they ever did TV spots. As far has hard details go, there aren’t many except a few big points.
First, this new camera seems to be a member of the Alpha series. But given that it’s not a DSLR, maybe its the start of a whole new line or a sub-series of cameras.
Then we learn that this camera will pack an Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and feature the ability to record full 1080p AVCHD video, altogether promising a “brilliant photographic experience.”
Sounds great. Now give us a name, price and release date, Sony.
